Club HQ – Live Escape Room
If your looking for something unique, challenging and exhilarating then this is definitely something you should try. You hear various reviews of Escape rooms and I understand that there are such a variety out there. I have tried a few and Club HQ still remains my favourite.
Teams of 2 to 6 people, are given 60 minutes in a locked room with different themes cleverly thought out to make it a challenge as to whether or not you can escape. Your aim is to find clues and solve puzzles, alongside making use of items you find along the way.
Located down a side street between Lakeland and Crew clothing in central Harrogate, the worst part of the experience is walking up the flights of stairs to reach Club HQ on the top floor. You book online in advanced using an online calendar therefore you can choose the perfect date and time to suit you with no hassle. Suitable for an experience with friends, family, team building, hen dos or just to do as something different on a rainy day. They recommend the experience to be suitable for over 16s, those under 16 must have a paying & participating adult over 18 years old as part of their team.
You can choose from 3 different rooms – Cell Block C, CSI: Panic room, and The Betrayal of Cluetankhamun. Each have there own difficulty rating, and are based around a specific story. Each of these you can look up on the companies website to see which one takes your fancy. My favourite personally is Cell Block C, well I say this they are so different it’s hard to compare. Any way Cell Block C for example: its story is ‘You’ve been framed for a crime you didn’t commit, and you’re about to be sentenced to a lifetime in prison. You know that notorious criminal Danny Badd is responsible, but with only 60 minutes before you face the jury, you don’t have the resources to prove your innocence. Can you escape the top security Cell Block C and buy yourself some time or will you be locked away forever?’.
The difficulty with reviewing Club HQ is that you can’t give too much away, however I can assure you the rooms are so much fun and each room has something suitable for everyone. For example a mathematical mind, a creative mind and a level headed mind. What I cannot guarantee is how your team will rise to the challenge, or not! It’s really fun to see how everyone reacts differently having visited on two occasions with different groups you do get caught up in the panic around trying to escape in 60 minutes – it is also possible!
